As flooding becomes more frequent and sev stanley cup ere weather events become more persistent because of climate change, museums across the country are rushing to better prote stanley cup ct art from more frequent natural disasters. What s happening outside a museum impacts what s happening inside, said Mary Coughlin, with the Corcoran School of Art and Design in Washington, D.C.We met Coughlin in the Salon Dore, situated inside the school s main campus building. Ornate gold panels and floor-to-ceiling window drapes are only part of the room s elegance. It was built in Paris in 1770 and then moved to the U.S. in the 1900s.This entire room is a work of art itself, and preserving it is challenging for Coughlin 鈥?especially as the weather outside takes more wild swings because ofclimate change. If you think of most museums, the building itself is often a work of art, Coughlin said. For decades, museums nationwide set strict, uniform standards for temperature and humi stanley cup dity. The Goldstone and adidas campus Beaver Creek fires continue to burn sections of the Beaverhead-Deerlodge and Salmon-Challis National forests. The Goldstone Fire, located about 18 miles south of Jackson, Montana, has burned 9,024 acres and is at seven percent containment as of August 22. Crews are operating to contain the fire on both Goldstone Pass Road and on forest service roads on the south end of the blaze. The Beaver Creek Fire, located 18 miles northwest of Wisdom has burned 2,067 acres and is eight percent contained. Management has started to de-staff the fire.Recent rains have slowed the fires, but Operations Section Chief Buck Wickham with the Southwest Area Incident Management Team says that the first snow could be what ultimately puts the fires out. Its not just the rain like we had in the last couple of days isnt going to stop either one of these fires. Itll make them hold down a little bit but its not going to put them out. I think to really put this fire out is going to mean a snowfall Wickham said.No evacuations have been ordered for either fire.
