The Georgetown Hospital is hosting the annual Walk or Run to purchase new hospital equipment.The run takes place on Sept. 29, at the Gellert Community Centre 10241 Eighth Line .Participants can take part in either a three-kilometre walk-only route or a five-kilometre walk or run route. ARTICLE CONTINUES BELOW Leashed pets are welcome on the three-kilometre route.This years event is raising funds for six new patient beds, including one special wound surface bed. The new beds have upgraded technology, including integrated bed alarms that reduce the possibility of patient falls. The wound surface 8220 kin bed will reduce patient pressure injuries. ARTICLE CONTINUES BELOW The fundraising goal for the event will cover the approximate cost of the new beds, which is $55,000. Cave City police seized 21.4 grams of suspected methamphetamine during a traffic stop Saturday.Police were called to the Watermill restaurant on a woman in a white SUV who was possibly intoxicated, according to a release from the department.An officer notice signs of meth intoxication and a K-9 team arrived on the scene. K-9 Jax alerted to possible drugs inside the vehicle. Police found the suspected meth and plastic bags consistent with stanley taza meth trafficking inside a purse belonging to Jamie P. Groce, according to the release.The street value of the suspected meth seized is about $350.Groce, 41, of Glasgow, was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drug stanley tumbler s, careless driving, first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, first-degree possession of a controlled substance first offense methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.Groce was lodged in the Barren County Detention Center.
