Mzli Gov. Cuomo Announces Grants For CNY Water Infrastructure Improvements
The Ontario Provincial Swimming Championships was held April 7th-10th/2022. The meet, due to restrictions, was spread out across 3 pools Windsor, Markham and Scarbrough . Halton Hills Blue Fins was very proud to have 4 members representing our club at the provincial level. Alyson Leonard, Addison Nellis and Owen Anslow represented in Markham while Austin Daleman represented in Scarborough. Each athlete raced at finals, gaining valuable high level racing experience. Many best times were achieved. Austin swam very well winning the 50m 100m Backstoke. Austin is in the running to be selected to the Canada Games TEAM with the announcement of the team selec stanley cup nz tion to be made soon. Alyson Leonard and Austin Daleman will go on to represent our club in a few weeks in Quebec for the Eastern Championships! We congratulate our athletes on obtaining qualifying times to be able to race at this level of swimming. They have worked hard and persevered in the face of so many obstacles that the pandemic presented to them. Well Done!Halton Hills Blue Fins is a community, not-for-profit competitive swimming club. We are proud to support athletes as young as 4 years old Mini Fins Program all the way up to our adult Masters Program. oswego road signOSWEGO 鈥?The Common Council unanimously approved the mayors proposal to clean up the Port City.The multi-pronged initiative will not only protect the environment and reduce litter, it will also protect the multi-million dollar investment his administration has made in the city, Mayor Billy Barlow said Tuesday night.The Keep Oswego Clean Initiative is an entirely new chapter to the Oswego City Code entitled Chapter 115, Environmental Protection Code. Among other things, it doubles the local fine for litter from $100 to $200.Hopefully, this will encourage people to do the right thing, the mayor said, adding that the city is doubling the number of trash cans in downtown and city parks to make it easier for people to properl stanley website y dispose of their trash.Mos stanley taza t of the cpmplaints he has heard about city parks and concerts have had to do with the issue of dealing with secondhand smoke, the mayor said.The city will now ban smoking, vaping and tobacco use on all city property and events.The new chapter also includes a ban on the sale and use of Styrofoam within city limits and support of the NYS plastic bag ban that takes effect next year.The city will offer Keep Oswego stanley cup Clean reusable tote bags.Reaction to the proposal has been positive, according to the mayor.Some businesses have already begun to remove Styrofoam from their shelves, he said.
